This is relating to NPDp3 and NPDc6. I have a project with 4 motorized street connections to the project boundary and 2 pedestrian walkways (stairways) to the project boundary. I am assuming I cant meet the 20% nonmotorized connections threshold, correct? Is there any way to go about this, as this is a small 10 acre infill project and its hard to make street connections to the outside.

Bernard, only NPDp3 Option 1 has the 20% limit on non-motorized through-connections, while NPDc6 doesn't have a limit. Your description of six total through-connections, with two being non-motorized ped stairways, gives non-motorized a 33% share of the total. To work around this problem, be sure you've subtracted all possible exclusion segments of the project boundary, and then determine if you can meet the 800 ft interval requirement without counting one of the ped stairways since 1 divided by 5 = 20%. If that doesn't work and your project is registered, you should check with your USGBC technical rep about the advisability of submitting a CIR.
