NC-v4 LTc4:Surrounding density and diverse uses

Community Anchor Uses - do only commercial offices count?

Our project is next to a public agency building that employs more than 100 employees. Does this count?
Is there a reason why only commercial offices qualify?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Deborah, Diverse use is a distinct business or organization that provides goods or services intended to meet daily needs and is publicly available (LEED definition). As long as your public agency building can meet definition of diverse use, it is supposed to be counted. Based on https://www.usgbc.org/credits/new-construction-existing-buildings-commercial-interiors-core-and-shell-schools-new-constr-2, the use type of community anchor uses is not only commercial office. Now it includes housing (100 or more dwelling units).
