NC-v4 WEp2:Indoor water use reduction

Commerical showerheads - Are they WaterSense Labeled?

Does anyone know if "commerical" showerheads such as the Whitehall Ligature Resistant Wall Shower (Model WH418-CSH), which has a flowrate of 1.5 gpm, and teh Whitehall Ligature Resistant ADA & CBC Compliant Wall Shower with Hand Held Shower (Model WH418ADA-WHCHS) have to be WaterSense labeled? Are they even eligible to be WaterSense labeled? They are not "typical" commerical showerheads, but rather used in institutions.

Hi Theresa, I believe the short answer will be that you'll need to contact LEED Coach with your project's inquiry, and are likely to get project-specific guidance back that way. You can refer to this similar thread for reference:  https://leeduser.buildinggreen.com/forum/anti-ligature-fixtures   If for some reason that link doesn't work, just search for "Anti-Ligature fixtures" in the posts (search box on the left side of the forum page) and you'll be able to find it.

Yes! We have had success on 2 different occasions requesting a WaterSense certification exemption from Coach for anti-lig showers provided that the flow rates still meet the WS performance specs. The first time we pre-empted the question and provided the Coach response in our submission and were awarded the points without comment (on that issue); the 2nd attempt, we submitted without any indication that we were looking for an exemption (thinking it was already a known) but recieved a comment. We responded with the same coach response from the first project and were awarded the points without further comment.
