Hi,
I have a project where the client wants to specify a commercial-style dishwasher rather than a domestic-scale one. There doesn't seem to be guidance for this within the LEED-CI credit; however, I can see that there is guidance in the Hospitability Interiors tool.
Is there any guidance on this? Should I assume that the ID+C Hospitality requirements apply? (6 l per rack?)

Yeah, it's safest to use the commercial guidance since that's what will actually go in. There may not be a field for it on the credit form; you'd probably want to mention it in the Special Circumstances box or if you plan on submitting a little narrative for any other reason, add it to that.

Is there any specific criteria for commercial dishwashers? The team is installing a commercial dishwasher type in residential project (using LEED BD+C: New Construction) in each shared kitchen area per floor. By installing commercial dishwasher and consider the project are they exempted or we should ensure installation of residential type and follow Energy Star requirements?

Hi Catarina,
If it doesn't make sense for your project to have the residential type, you wouldn't want to force it just for the LEED aspect. I would use the same guidance mentioned above as your criteria. You could always email LEED Coach and confirm if the approach is appropriate if you'd like more definite confirmation.

I got a response from GBCI that commercial dishwashers were not in scope for CI but 'best practice' would be to use the thresholds in leed Retail or hospitality. ( I.e. 6 l per rack)
