We are located in CA and many of our projects have airside economizers. Per code, a CO2 monitor is required in densly occupied spaces which automatically activates increased ventilation (on demand) to bring the concentration of CO2 back to the appropriate level. The credit language requireshas an audio or visual alarm or BMS notification feature, but is connection to/activation of demand ventilation acceptable for this credit?

The credit language does not require a control sequence to engage once CO2 levels rise amount levels determined by ASHRAE 62.1-2016 Appendix D.
Similary for EQp Minimum IAQ Performance, there is no requirement to engage a control sequence when outdoor airflow rates are 15% or more above/below the ASHRAE 62.1-2016 outdoor air rate setpoint.
It is recommended that a control sequence engage in both instances, but is not required by the prereq or credit language.
Hope this Helps!

Thanks, but what I really want to know is, since we have control sequence engagement anyway, is that sufficient for the credit, or do we need to have an audio or visual alarm or BMS notification feature as well? Or does the control sequence engagement count as BMS notification? As you can tell, I am not an engineer.
