Team, I am working on a Dormitory project in a campus housing kids from 1st grade to 8th grade. This project is located in the reservation. Looking through the Transportation Planning Handbook, dormitories are not specified clearly. Do I consider my building under suburban low/mid-rise apartments or hotels or nursing home? Appreciate your feedback.

Hi Roshini. You'll actually consider the University/College use type. You might notice that the PCC Recommended Zone Ordinance Provisions ask for the use to prepare a parking study. You could certainly do so to estimate the conventional amount of parking a dormitory like yours would need. As an interim solution, however, I recommend using the Average Parking Generation rates. For this use, its 0.30 per school population, which includes students, faculty, and staff.

Thank you Chris. We will use the 0.30 per school population.
