CI-v4 EQp2:Environmental tobacco smoke control

City Smoking Ordinance corresponds to LEED

Hello,

My project is located in a mall that does not have an offial smoking policy, but follows the City Ordince which prohibits smoking indoors and within 25 ft of all buildings.

Do we need a project specific smoking policy, or will providing a copy of the City Ordinace be sufficient for this credit?

Thank you!

Historically GBCI hasn't accepted ordinances/policies as being sufficient without the signage based on the idea that you might have visitors to the building who aren't familiar with the unposted policy. You can try it, but I would be prepared to still need to demonstrate that there is the relevant signage on-site.

Thank you for your reply! The project does have non smoking signage outside the building. They just don't have a building specifc non-smoking policy signed by the owner. I am hoping the ordinace can take the place of that?   Thanks again!
