Hello,
This may seem like a stupid question, but I am working on a project that has porcelain wall tile being installed in bathrooms and I'm not sure how this is supposed to be listed under IEQc4.1. They are using mortar and sanded grout to install the product. Technically, they are ceramic tile adhesives, but they are not being installed on the floor, so they should go on the non-flooring adhesives and sealants section of the form, right? Does anyone know what adhesive the mortar and grout should be listed under. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Nena—It’s not a stupid question. It’s just a LEED-Online glitch.
Mortar and grout for wall tile are “Ceramic Tile Adhesives,” just as they would be if they were installed on the floor. Unfortunately, in the current version of the LEED-Online form, the “Ceramic Tile Adhesives” product type does not come up as an option in Table IEQc4.1-1 for “Non-Flooring Adhesives and Sealants.”
Also missing from Tables L-5 and IEQc4.1-1 are several other product types that can be used for both flooring and non-flooring applications. For example, there are aerosol adhesives on the market for vinyl & rubber floor tile, but “Special-Purpose Aerosol Adhesive” is not an option in the flooring products table.
Contact USGBC Customer Service. They really need to fix the LEED-Online form.
