Our team is working on a project of a whole 2-storey (to be) newly constructed office building.
I wonder (1) whether we can apply both floors to ID+C rating system or it has to be a single part of the building.
The owner has ownership and control of the whole building as well as the regular occupants are owner's employees.
(2) If apply a part of one floor or part of both floors, how can water faucet and/or HVAC fixtures are supposed to be included or excluded from project boundary?
(3) How fixtures outside project boundary affect indoor water use calculation? For example, there is a water treatment outside the project boundary, if part of the project's water use comes from that source, can that part calculated as project's water use reduction?

1) Multiple floors and/or non-contigious parts of the building can be included within one LEED for Commercial Interiors certification.
2) Two water calcs are completed. One calc for the prereq that only includes plumbing fixtures within the LEED Project Boundary. One calc for the credit that includes all the plumbing fixtures in which the occupants have access to and are expected to use. HVAC equipment located outside the LEED Project Boundary, but serve the area within the LEED Project Boundary, must be included in the vent calcs, commissioning, ref managament and other applicable credits pursued.
3) Water sources outside the LEED Project Boundary, that serve the plumbing fixtures within the LEED Project Boundary, are accounted for within the Prerequisite Indoor Water Use Reduction calculation. This is also accounted for within the Credit Indoor Water Use Reduction calculation.

Thank you Dave for you reply.
(1) so our project can apply for either BD+C of ID+C whether we see fit better, right?
(2) so the project boundary does not have to extend near to the outside equipments, as long as we fully include those equipments within calculations, commissioning and managements etc same as equipments inside project boundary, just not physically being there?

1) NC if it is whole building and 40%+ is built out. CS if it is whole building and less than 40% built out. CI if it is just interior build out and little to no work on the enclosure.
2) yes.
