Hello all, we are trying to comply with this credit to certificate a Campus in Colombia. The LEED guidance for Campuses says that to achieve this credit, the campus will prohibit the use of refrigerants; but if the campus is Core&Shell, is it mandatory to prohibit the use of refrigerant in tenant or lease spaces? or can it be allowed to use refrigerants with low ozone-depletion and global-warming potentials?
Thankyou

Hi Esteban,
For Core and Shell or New Construction, Option 1, you cannot use any refrigerants. If you pursue Option 2, you may use refrigerants which minimize or eliminate the emission of compounds that contribute to ozone depletion and climate change, as you said. The formula for determining your max amount of refrigerants can be found in the LEED User Credit Language for NC-2009 EAc4.
