Dear LEED Users,
Please help me in calculation of the vegetated area for open space. Can I consider the spread of the plant species for the calculation of coverage area? I assume the spread as a circle and made my calucation based on circle area. Is this correct?

Yes, I made so for trees and bushes.
It had odd consequences - overall area of vegetation can be bigger than the vegetated area, since you have a tree with crown spread of 3-4 m in diameter (for instance), and under the crown of that tree you have or grass, or bushes which has it's own area of spread ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. So you need to count such area for this credit only once - by the spread area of plants in the highest tier.
If you also including such area in calculation of Outdoor ater use reduction prerequisit you need to count such overlaping area separately, since each plant has his own water demands - if you watering area under a tree without counting water for grass/bushes some of it woud be in water shortage.
I just made explanation of such discrepancy (that a plants of different tier has an overlap, and which overlap for each type I count or not for different credits) and had no problem in passing review.
