We're working on a project where multiple versions of ASHRAE 90.1 are enforced. LEED v4 enforces 2010 and other government agencies enforce 2016 (also potentially 2013). In order to reduce time needed to develope separate baselines, ASHRAE introduced the BPF in an addendum to 2013 and has been native to the standard since 2016. Is anyone aware of an addendum or LEED guideline that allows the same method to be used for 2010 with different BPFs?

You can use LEED v4.1 as a direct substitute for any LEED v4 credits. v4.1 references 90.1-2016.

Thanks Marcus.
Yes, we're considering that, but think we might end up with lesser points becuase of the more stringent code. Was hoping for an ammendment of sorts to 2010 where we can use the 2004 baseline and apply the BPF.

I would reccomend you do a preliminary energy model or at the very least estimate where you think the energy savings will be coming from before switching to LEED v4.1/90.1-2016. While the BPF method simplifies the baseline modeling substantially, the BPF for ASHRAE 90.1-2016 can be quite a hurdle. I would expect significantly less energy points.

For 2 projects I have made the comparison between LEED v4/ASHRAE 90.1.2010 and LEED v4.1 / ASHRAE 90.1.2016 I get the result that LEED v4/ASHRAE 90.1.2010 gives more points the "Optimize Energy Performance Credit"

LI 10421 allows using 90.1-2013 and provides an adjusted point scale. You could also look into appling Pilot Credit EApc95 Alternative Energy Performance Metric.
