Retail-CI-v4 MPR2:Must use reasonable LEED boundaries

BD+C vs ID+C Rting System Selection

We are working on a Retail (fast food store) that is currently in the LEED registration process. We are confused with the selection of the rating system because we were originally treating it as a BD+C: Retail because the project will be built from zero. However, now, with the store, a strip mall will be built. The store will be part of this strip mall. And the same construction company will have the full scope of the mall + the food retail store.

Can we pursue LEED ID+C: Retail instead, given the fact that the strip mall will not pursue any LEED certification and only the retail store will?

Best Regards,

Hi Sofia. Based on what you're describing it sounds fine to have the retail store pursue ID+C. The most important aspect here will be having a well-defined LEED boundary separating the spaces for the purpose of certification and noting how the full scope of work will affect the approach to certain credits. Hope this helps.

Matthew, thank you very much for your quick response. Your answer does helps a lot!! We will pursue the project as ID+C: Retail.
