Hi all,
We are currently working on a project which is a building with two levels - Ground floor level and Level 01. Level 01 is 1,000 m2 and consists of hotel rooms, whereas Ground floor level is 1,400 m2 and consists of mixed use spaces, such as restaurant, offices, storages, toilets, kitchen etc.
Would you please advise on what system type we should be using for the Baseline model? Is is acceptable to go with system 2 for Level 01 (hotel rooms) and system 6 for the ground floor level? Or should we apply system 2 to the whole building?
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,
Nikos

Since the predominate condition is not residential you would select system 6 for the entire building. Since the residential portion is less than 1,900 m2, exception a under G3.1.1 does not apply.

Just curious, does exception 2 under G3.1.1 work for the restaurant area and the hotel area? I will assume the internal loads from these two zone types will be significantly different than in the rest of the zones.

It may but it gets a little unclear since the hotel area is considered residential and exception 2 would change those to a system 4.
