In scope section the following is shown:
This standard does not include “transient” housing, such as hotels, motels, nursing homes, jails, and barracks, or manu- factured housing.
So I have the doubt.

You use 90.1-2010 for a hotel.

Marcus,
according to ASHRAE 90.1-2010 Users Manual (page G-27):
Residential spaces in buildings are used primarily for living and sleeping. They include, but are not limited to, dwelling units, hotel/motel guest rooms, dormitories, nursing homes, patient rooms in hospitals, lodging houses, fraternity/sorority houses, hostels, prisons and fire stations. The scope of Standard 90.1, in terms of residential spaces, applies just to spaces with four or more stories, so low-rise residential is excluded.
We are currently involved in the certification of resort project. This building will have only two stories. Does this mean ASHRAE 90.1 is not applicable to this project?
Regards,
