Maybe I am overly cautious, but I would like to clarify the following. The Ref.Guide states "base building-level" energy meters.
Does this mean the meters should only measure common areas and systems that are under direct control of the owner? Meaning, receptacles, lights etc. in tenant areas must be excluded? Or can just the main meter be used, which includes tenant consumption as well?
If tenants need to be excluded I assume it is allowable to deduct tenant meter readings from the main meter, correct?

You need either a single meter that measures energy use for the whole building or a series of submeters that when added together will total to the energy use of the whole building.

That's good. In Germany you've normally got a meter for each energy supply anyway from the energy supplier. So that would be enough, as long as operation staff takes monthly recordings.

Hi Jens,
Wondering if you submitted your core and shell project with building-level energy meters that included base building and tenant consumption without any issues? I may be overly cautious as well, but I'm curious to know your approach as the reference guide makes a distinction between 'building-level' energy meters for NC projects and "base-building level energy meters" for CS projects.

What approach did you used for this credit? I am coming to the same conclusion for CS projects as the reference guide makes a clear distinction between CS and NC projects.
