Hi,
I want to ask about the default occupancy table. I'm calculating the building LEED Occupant Load. What would be the correct type for a space in a building that a portion of it is a health and fitness area?
The other portions were straightforward to be classified as a medical office, general office, and daycare.
Reference Appendix 2. Default occupancy counts LEED BD+C NC v4

Hi Eslam,
I think it would depend on the gym's user group. If the facility is accessible to anyone, regardless of whether they are building occupants or not, then it would be best to estimate FTEs and visitors under the Retail or Service category. However, if the gym is exclusively open to the building occupants, then you can allocate the gym GFA proportionally to other spaces within the building, such as office, daycare, etc. This approach ensures that you avoid double counting since all the visitors of the gym would be coming from the FTEs of those specific spaces.
