We would very much like to pursue this credit on our project. However, we have some unusual wall assemblies for blast resistance. Are we allowed to neglect materials that are not in the Athena EcoCalculator? Is there any rule about what can and can't be excluded, i.e. how different is our assembly allowed to be from the ones offered in EcoCalculator?

In the interest of advancing the idea behind the credit, I would think that if you choose the nearest assembly you can, but still feel it is too different, it would be valuable to highlight this shortcoming and we can learn from the results of your experience with the tool. We'd also like to learn the details of your unique example so that we may be able to better accommodate it in future versions. Perhaps you can provide details in your evaluation. I know it's time consuming, but we will send you a USGBC t-shirt. No we won't. But you will be deserving of our thanks!

Thank you for the clarification. Yes, we wish to support the intent and advance development of EcoCalculator, so it is good to hear it isn't too restrictive while in pilot.
Could you also please confirm that we don't need to submit a CIR for this sort of ID credit?

Pilot credits are intended to be much less formal than standard rating system credits. If you receive guidance or clarification via the LEEDuser forum or by emailing pilot@usgbc.org, feel free to include that response or some additional narrative in your LEED Online submittal for the pilot credit. There is no formal CIR process for pilot credits.
