NC-v4.1 WEp1:Outdoor Water Use Reduction

Achieving outdoor water use prerequisite with no site work

Hello,

i'm working on the gut renovation of an existing building where site work is not included in the scope of work.  There is an existing irrigation system on-site that does not meet LEED requirements.

Has anyone run into this situation and is the prerequisite achievable?  It would be a shame if LEED certification was forfited due to this.

any input is appreicated.

thanks,

Hi! Can you do an update to the irrigation system so it meets LEED requirements? I've done projects with little or no landscape works, but we made sure the irrigation system met LEED requirements so we were able to document the PR.
Another way to go is to directly ask the reviewer or make a CIR about the landscape not being in the scope of work and ask if you can submit the PR as Not Applicable to your project.
The later path (a CIR) might be the safest way to go if you are not planning on doing any landscape work at all. Good luck!

Does anyone have an update on this situation?  We have two projects on a Capitol Complex where no landscape changes are allowed and the irrigation is a central system for the whole complex.
