We are working on a new project, 7 Stories Residential Building with 43 Dwelling Units. The only non-unit spaces are the corridors connecting the dwelling units. We are now checking the project for a LEED v4 BD+C: Multifamily Midrise certification.

Our question now concerns the Prerequisite "IEQp1 - Ventilation". As it is said in the Reference Guide "Multifamily buildings can accomplish both whole-house ventilation and local exhaust either individually in each unit or with central systems for groups of units or all units. (page 388)" we decided to go for a verification of the exhaust air rates with the Local Exhaust Method.

Now we are wondering wether it is sufficient if we provide the required Continuous Local Exhaust Airflow Rates of ASHRAE 62.2-2010 Table 5.2 for kitchen and bathrooms? Or there are any other Airflow Rates to comply with by using the Local Exhaust Method, for example Airflow Rates for bedrooms as it required within the Wohle-House Ventilation Method?

The non-unit spaces will comply with ASHRAE 62.1-2010.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.
