BIO

Craig Kneeland, LEED Fellow, owner of Craig Kneeland Consulting, worked at the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), where he conceived, created and manages its commercial Green Building Services. Mr. Kneeland helped draft New York State’s Green Building Tax Credit legislation, managed the development of its technical regulations, and served as Chair of the Green Building Tax Credit Advisory Committee. He is a LEED Accredited Professional who has been active in the US Green Building Council since 1994. Craig has served on its Board of Directors, State and Local Government Committee, LEED New Construction Core Committee and the Market Advisory Committee. He helped establish the New York City and New York Upstate chapters of the USGBC. Mr. Kneeland was a steering committee member for New York City's High Performance Building Guidelines, an editor and contributor to Battery Park City Authority's Residential and Commercial Environmental Guidelines, and chaired the Green Building Working Group for Executive Order 111, “Green and Clean State Buildings and Vehicles.” Mr. Kneeland contributed to the World Trade Center (WTC) Sustainable Design Guidelines (SDG), edited the SDG Reference Manual, and consulted with affected organizations on greening the WTC. Craig was a founding member of the New York Academy of Sciences Green Building Discussion Group. He served on the Steering Committee for the Green Guide for Health Care and consults with other states and countries on green building programs and services. NYSERDA’s Green Building Program was the 2005 recipient of the USGBC Leadership Award in the LEED category. Mr. Kneeland was named a LEED Fellow in 2013.
