BIO
As the Head of ESG with the CIF, I support the development of policy and associated services for the CIF’s membership to enable them to address the critical pillars of ESG and corporate sustainability obligations and develop their own business strategies, plans and actions.
Before this, I worked with Bechtel and daa on embedding the daa's mandatory sustainable requirements in the capital infrastructure projects for Dublin Airport, and in helping to map out their route to 2030 and net zero.
Previously, I worked as Director of Sustainability with Ethos Engineering, where I worked for over nine years. I worked with clients to navigate the myriad regulations and policies affecting building construction and streamline their approach to Part L compliance and the implementation of building environmental rating schemes.
I have extensive experience in rating schemes such as BREEAM, LEED, WELL, and Living Future Accreditation (LFA) with ILFI. I have deep knowledge and understanding of building energy modelling and M&E design and how this can help buildings, new or old, to be the best they can be with the lowest carbon footprint.
The most challenging yet rewarding aspect of Sustainability is the explosion of new legislation, policies, and ESG requirements that have occurred in recent times - but keeping up to speed with this fast-paced sector is very fulfilling and exciting. Helping clients formulate their authentic roadmap to net zero, which is bespoke to their needs, is something I'm deeply committed to.
My proudest achievements include working on the Microsoft One campus building in Leopardstown, the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dun Laoghaire, and several large Data Centre projects. I'm a Chartered Engineer and a Registered Professional Consulting Engineer.
As the Convenor of the ACEI Sustainability Committee, I launched the Pledge to Net Zero campaign, intending to get Consulting Engineering firms to practice what they preach with science-based carbon reductions with 50% absolute reductions by 2030.
I am passionate about reducing the current climate emergency's worst effects and believe everyone can play their part in this regard.
