As Director of Sustainable Design for Vanderweil Engineers, Patrick is leveraging his passion and experience in sustainable, integrated, and innovative building design to inform designs through rigorous energy and water analysis. Patrick’s background as an architectural engineer with a focus on sustainable MEP systems informs his multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach to building design.

Patrick’s career is highlighted by multiple awards, speaking at several conferences, and his involvement and leadership in the design of four LEED Platinum projects, an off-grid NZE facility, and two projects earning the highest certification by Green Globes. His leadership in sustainable design has been recognized with the national Architectural Engineering Institute’s 2018 Most Innovative Project Award, the USGBC-NCR Chapter’s 2018 Midsummer Night’s Green Award for Most Innovative Project, first place in the Metropolis Magazine NextGen Design Competition, two USGBC-MD Awards for Excellence in Green Building, and four regional ASHRAE Technology Awards.
