BIO

I work for a firm of about 30 people, located in Lexington, KY. We take pride in our buildings, but unfortunately energy efficiency and sustainability are not priorities, and are often seen by our principles and our clients as unnecessary expenses. One of my main goals on this forum will be to determine ways to sell sustainability to an audience that is not quite as receptive as one in San Francisco.

I am also eager to learn more about sustainable design techniques and energy modeling. Since there is not a large community of architects here interested in pushing their projects to be sustainable, I'm looking forward to finally being able to be a part of a group from whom I can keep up to date on strategies for sustainable design. I got to meet at least one member of this group at the AIA convention in Las Vegas, and I think this group will be a great resource for me. Although I do not have a ton of experience in sustainable design, I hope that I will be able to contribute as well.
