BIO
As PG&E’s real estate Sustainability Lead since in 2007, Karen has worked to transform their properties of over 200 sites with 7 million square feet of buildings across California from Bakersfield to Eureka. This program reduces the use of energy and water, sends less waste to landfill, incorporates environmentally friendly materials and practices, and achieves LEED certifications for major remodels and new construction. Currently almost 40% of the portfolio is LEED certified at some level, including a LEED EBOM Platinum facility. She has been a panelist and a speaker on various real estate sustainability issues on the local and national level and currently teaches classes for the Building Owners and Management Institute (BOMI).
Ms. Cochran holds a Bachelors’ degree in Architecture and Fine Arts from Rice University, and is certified as a LEED AP, CFM, RPA, and FMA and CCIM accredited professional. She has been serving on the board of the San Francisco Chapter of IFMA as President and other positions for 8 years, and is a member of the USGBC, BOMA, and CoreNet.
