BIO

I conduct LEED reviews for the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) with NSF International as an auditor for green building projects. To date I have reviewed over 100 projects for certification across the US, China, Mexico, Brazil and India. In addition, I am collaborating on several sustainable design projects in Uganda and Kenya, and am working on a green building zoning presentation for a municipality outside Chicago. Pro bono work includes a large design/build playstructure for the Peace House in Kalamazoo and site planning for a local church.

In addition, I work as an intern architect for the University of Michigan. In that capacity I've participated in the design of classrooms, laboratories, exercise space, administrative suites, lounges, offices, sports facilities and greenhouses. These projects involve early programming, material and code research, design development, construction documents, and project management through the end of construction. Projects I'm particularly proud of include a new accessible entrance vestibule at Matthaei Botanical Gardens and the fully renovated administrative offices for the Department of History. In the winter/spring of 2008 I was part of a team at that designed and implemented a scheme to hold graduation on Michigan's Diag for the first time in the University's history.

My professional goals include possible academic work and larger-scale planning/design issues - at a neighborhood or city level.
