Painting HVAC Units on roof

The client is close to getting the credit and wondered if painting the units on the roof would help. I think it does from a heat island effect, but not from a LEED Credit point of view.

As our project is located in Northern CA, it is not diffidult to achieve this credit as there are many haulers with third-party certified diversion rates (RCI) in the area.
