Inpatient hospitals in the US would use 1 'resident' per bed. My recommendation is to use 100% of bed count for the resident count unless you have an existing facility that can give you good metrics on 'average length of stay' and 'average occupancy.' You can also take the kitchen sink use for an inpatient down to zero. It is common to count inpatients as residents for the water calculations. No one else would be considered...

to be for the life of the building. Certainly buildings will change over time, but in my understanding to the intent of things, future renovations or use changes should keep in line with the LEED requirements...

According to USGBC, Airport projects now have space type options available in LEED Online. I was looking at LEED on line and could not find any specific reference to airports. Can you please clarify? Which specific LEED features were developed for airport building’s? Where can I find these references? Thanks in advance, Portugal ...

Hi, we are working in a project of a new airport pursuing LEED certification. In what relates to external lighting, can you please confirm that outdoor areas related to airside (runways and their accesses, parking lots for airplanes, hangars, etc) are exempt of lighting power requirements (per section 9.4.3 exceptions a, b and even g)? In this case, for energy performance calculations, we shall simulate baseline building with the same lighting power as proposed building, correct? Regards, EAp2 ...

it is very possible to fail an air test. Comparatively, this credit isn't all that expensive when doing the air test (when compared to a lot of the other v4 credits), but it can be a dart throw....
