Mix coefficients from the International Energy Agency CO2 Emissions from Fuel Combustion 2017 reportNC-v4.1 EAc2: Optimize Energy Performanceposted by Dang Thi on Jan 25, 2021, 10:29 pmWe have a project to persue LEED ZERO Carbon. However, we can not find mix coefficients from the International Energy Agency CO2 emissions or co-efficient to convert fuel to GHG emission for international (outside US and Canada). Does anyone have document to find them? P/S: We try to find in "IEA- CO2 emissions from fuel combustion- Highlights" but still not yet. https://euagenda.eu/upload/publications/untitled-110953-ea.pdf EAc2 Asia – South and Southeast ... |

Why are Light Trespass at almost unreachable light levels?LEED v4.1 Discussion Forumposted by Kevin Bremer on Feb 12, 2021, 3:26 pmSo often I am running calculations needing to meet LEED requirements for light tresspass and needing to hit.1FC which is abusurd. Most times we are putting sheilding on the fixtures which require us to use MORE WATTS to acheive IES recommended light level. Not to mention that properties are using as much space as possible where poles are right next to the property line. Then the crazy thing is where you back up to a apratment complex or roadway where they have 250w to 400w HID street lights illuminating their property yet we are haviing to hit.1FC like they are not even there creating way over... |

Irrigated areas and vegetated non-irrigated areas- How to include in calculator?NC-v4 WEp1: Outdoor water use reductionposted by Erica Downs on Mar 5, 2021, 11:38 pmThe reference guide's step-by-step language says: If only part of the lot is irrigated, complete the calculation twice—once for the irrigated section, and again for the unirrigated area—and sum the results. What exactly is meant here-- do we complete 2 separate calculators (one for irrigated areas, one for non-irrigated), then a summay table of the info? Do we use a weighted average of the percentage? When we enter the non-irrigated area in the calculator, do we enter it as irrigated? Can someone please clarify? Thanks! WEp1 United States ... |

Time limit for rainwater reuseCS-v4 SSc4: Rainwater managementposted by Norbert Szircsak on Mar 18, 2021, 5:34 amDear All, I was trying to find a guidance about it everywhere but didn't find or missed it. My question is regarding is there any time limit to reuse the collected rainwater? I did all the calculation, the 80 percentile is 12,8 mm, our project is zero lot line, and according to my caclulation we have to catch 50 m3 of rainwater. The rainwater retention tank is 140 m3 so it's almost triple of the needed. The project owner however would like to flush toilets with the collected rainwater but agree to keep it for irrigation purposes. But also according to my outdoor water use reduction calculation... |

Purchase of EACsCS-v4.1 EAc5: Renewable energyposted by Norbert Szircsak on Mar 31, 2021, 11:12 amDear All, The credit language changed recently which raises a lot of questions, at least to me. My main question is regarding buying EACs. It seems both Tier 2 and Tier 3 allow to purchase EACs? The difference is that in Tier 2 it has to be purchased from a source which is in operation within 5 years? Tier 2 also says that "delivery of EACs of more than 100% of the project’s annual electricity use", how much more and what are the point rewards then? "The default contract length for renewable energy procurement is 10 years. Contract lengths less than 10 years may be pro-rated."... |

Social Equity Within the Project Team: For a Joint Use FacilityPilot-Credits IPpc90: Social equity within the operations and maintenance staffposted by Atlas Turner on Apr 6, 2021, 8:42 pmMy organization will be working with a Design Build team under option 2 of this pilot credit. We have decided to pursue using the design team threshold of 20% or more by dollar value of design contracts, as the design consultants we are working with participate in the JUST label program. We have had success with documenting for Option 1 of the Social Equity within the project team pilot credit previously, but feel that the amount of verification of mainly verifying prevailing wage/apprenticiship ratios was a lot to document. I would recommend option 1 for projects where contractors already have those... |

PILOT CREDIT- ENERGY JUMPSTARTEBOM-v4 INc1: Innovationposted by Francisco j on Apr 14, 2021, 7:57 amHi Everyone, We just wanted to tell you about our experience using this credit. First thanks everyone for sharing all the information and solving doubts about this credit and other credits. Our project is a Warehouse in Spain. The problem that we faced here was that this warehouse has an area over 25% of the total area that has an assembly and manufacturing line, so we were not able to certify with Energystar and the energy consumption from this equipment is huge. To solve this issue we have used this pilot credit. We carried out a load assessment to find out the energy consumption from this industrial... |

Soils in green roofsNC-v4.1 SSc2: Protect or Restore Habitatposted by Alexia Anastassiadis on May 17, 2021, 9:52 amHi! Our project has a FAR of 8 (zero lot line, 9 floors) and all open space is located in different green roofs that account for 40% of incorporated vegetated space. BUT, we don´t know how to address the soil issues. We have native planting and sedums (very high diversity) and the soil we are using is designed for these type of planting, but it does not match the local reference soils, since it is a green roof soil, which is a completely different issue. My guess is that I should clarify this in the Special Circumstances. Am I right? How did you tackle this in your project? Thanks! SSc2 Argentina ... |
