V4- SSc5- Heat Island Reduction- occupiable roofs

CS-v4 SSc5: Heat Island Reduction
posted by Thomas Gibbons on Sep 14, 2018, 10:26 am

Hi folks, SSc5- Heat Island Reduction Core & Shell V4 Working on an office project with occupiable roofs on floors 3 – 8.  Each outdoor patio consists of green roof and pavers.  The pavers are set up on a pedestal system – below the pedestal system we hold water as a blue roof – all of that sitting upon “the roof” (insulation, weather barrier, deck, etc).  I’m trying to figure out what would be considered roof versus nonroof measure here in regard to the pavers.  I’ve read up on a lot of the discussion on the forums though I haven’t seen something specifically addressing this in v4 (though I could...

Dear all LEED user, We have a question about the definition of " Functional Entry "? There is a debate in our project team about this. Some consider this to be the main entrance to the building and the other one to the site entrance. What is the exact definition for LEED? Thanks a lot for your answers Marion LTc6 ...

MEPC input- Total cooling & heating capacity

CS-v4 EAc2: Optimize Energy Performance

Hi to All,  I would like to clarify the MEPC calculator inputs for LEEDv4 under C&S.  In the Air-Side HVAC tab: 1/ Cooling & heating capacities: Line 17: Total cooling capacity- do you enter just the capacity of coils in the AHU its self, or include the total capacity, including cooling capacity of terminal units (i.e. FCUs) under that system? Line 21: Total heating capacity- ditto, the same as above, just for heating. 2/ In the Air-Side HVAC tab: Do you also enter systems that don't serve for ventilation, but just for cooling (i.e. server rooms (not data centres though)), or heating (i.e....

Cove.Tool for Quality Views?

NC-v4 EQc8: Quality Views
posted by Michelle Bombeck on Oct 26, 2023, 4:14 pm

Hi Folks- Has anyone had success documenting this credit using the Cove.Tool outputs? While the table Cove provides does detail the necessary criteria, the visual output is too high level to truly align with the documentation requirements- doesn't label spaces, doesn't show view lines, etc. I wanted to see what others had experienced before asking the architect to go through the onerous process of demonstrating the various criteria via floor plan/elevation/sections markup. If a parcel crosses the 1/4 mile radius, does it count?

CS-v4 LTc4: Surrounding density and diverse uses

On the map I ploted a 1/4 mile radius from the project boundary. There are lot of parcels of buildable land that are partially within the radius and partially outside the radius. Do I include these parcels in the calculation or do I exclude them? Do I only count part of the parcel? LTc4 United States ...

Gioia Connell Consultant WSP LEEDuser Expert 1 thumbs up March 28, 2024- 3:01 pm Hello fellow *Connell, In our team's experience any parking space that is allocated for use by the building occupants will need to be included, even if they are not new spaces.  So if any of those other parking lots are used in part by occupants, those spaces that are used would need to be counted. We work with the client team to get the answer to this.  Let me know if this helps!  Log in or register to post comments ...
