Undergroung parking under a 12 inches water poolNC-2009 SSc7.1: Heat island effect - nonroofposted by Carlos Garcia on Nov 15, 2012, 6:00 amDear all We have the 100% of parking spaces undercover, in an underground parking (level-1). One part of the parking is under a building with vegetated roof and other part under an exterior big pool with 12 inches of water (level 0). I have doubts on how we should approach the parking spaces under the pool. • Do we have to use a high SRI material in the bottom of the pool or paint it in white? What is the SRI of water? • Or being an underground parking we don’t need to use reflective materials? Thanks a lot SSc7.1 ... Last reply: Susan Walter, Nov 29, 2012, 8:42 am |

What can we learn?General forumsposted by Marcus Sheffer on Dec 19, 2012, 2:32 pmbuilding in energy performance. I certainly know that there are many variables and we can rationalize with facts all we want about why they don't perform well but the bottom line for a green building... ID Credit- Green Cleaning PolicyNC-2009 IDc1: Innovation in Designposted by Gary Harris on Jan 2, 2013, 6:04 pmbut not LEED NC projects. Anyway, it sounds like we have a lot more work to do and possibly a delay for our final submittal. I would love to get my hands on a sample "feedback form." Log in or register... Meeting EAp2 in Zone 1 without A/C?NC-2009 EAc1: Optimize Energy Performanceposted by Katrina Morgan on Jan 25, 2013, 8:25 pmJorge Torres-Coto Building Systems Commissioning Engineer Empirical Engineering, LLC LEEDuser Basic Member 17 thumbs up January 25, 2013- 9:18 pm Katrina In a nut shell (not that easy) you need a software that can give you results for temperature and humidity (or wet bulb temp) for the occupied spaces of the project without HVAC. In some software you need to assume an HVAC system with no capacity (zero heating and cooling). This will give you what and how many hours of the year your project is within the comfort window of ASHRAE standard 55. Once you know that information, you model the project... implementation costs (soft costs)Pilot-Credits EQpc24: Acousticsposted by Emmanuel Pauwels on Dec 12, 2012, 2:57 pmWe are considering this credit for a New Construction Project. Before making a decision we need to estimate the engineering cost involved for this credit. I understand that measurements are required once the project is finished. I also understand an analysis is required prior to construction, in order to determine the values that are requried. Does this involve an acoustic simulation or a calculation? What would be the time required for this? I understand that it depends on the size of the project, but I would need some orientation. A full scale acoustic simulation might require a lot more time... Design Appeal- PI FormsLEED Reviews: Appeals, Design/Construction Submittals, and moreposted by Erika Duran on Dec 17, 2012, 2:46 pmI am submitting an appeal for IEQp1 and uploaded new Mechanical Schedules to the PIf4 form to demonstrate that the inconsistencies that were present were due to a design change. When I am submitting for the appeal I am being charged $500 for the appeal and $800 for the line item LEED-NC v2009 Appeal Review-Energy. Is this due to changing the PI form? I had not seen anythng suggesting that you get charged for changing the PI form. Any insights as to why there is this additional $800 charge and how to handle it? Just want to know about people's experience with this. LEED ... Last reply: Erika Duran, Apr 18, 2013, 9:01 am |
