MR Credit: Waste PerformanceLEED v5 O&M Existing Buildings Public Commentsposted by Anna Dengler on May 24, 2024, 12:26 pmI don't think a zero waste audit would be considered a valid form of methodology for Option 1. That discourages applicants to focus on contamination because often times volume calcs and hauler reports... Last reply: Anna Dengler, May 24, 2024, 12:28 pm |

MR Credit: Assess Embodied Carbon (Pre-requisite):LEED v5 BD+C/ID+C: Materials and Resources Public Commentsposted by Lori Tiefenthaler on May 19, 2024, 6:54 pmrose gicheru LEEDuser Basic Member 1 thumbs up May 24, 2024- 12:57 am Materials and Resource Credit: Embodied Carbon of interior materials during renovations- In interior design we design in Recycle, Reuse, Repurpose, Regenerate approach: most products manufactured in the past didn't use LCA approach- Will this credit apply to new products in the market? Or will it entail even recycled products? Will there be support in regeneration of old products to new products ensuring zero carbon emission, net zero embodied carbon in these products? As a designer, I would like for verification... Last reply: rose gicheru, May 24, 2024, 12:57 am |

Purchasing- Lamps: EXIT signsNC-v4 INc1: Innovationposted by Edgar Arevalo on Feb 5, 2024, 3:14 pmEmily Purcell Sustainable Design Lead CannonDesign LEEDuser Expert 369 thumbs up February 5, 2024- 4:52 pm Hi Edgar, One thing I've done on past projects is only fill out the calculator enough to show that any mercury containing lamps are offset, then just upload a schedule or cut sheets showing that everything else is LED. So the calculator might have 2 lines for mercury-containing lamps and 2 more lines for LED lamps to get the final number down below 35 pg/lumen hour. Then it is clear that the threshold is met, so I don't spend time putting the rest of the LED lamps into the calculator.... Last reply: Catarina Costa Goncalves, May 22, 2024, 11:52 am |

MR Credit: Reduce Embodied CarbonLEED v5 BD+C/ID+C: Materials and Resources Public Commentsposted by Lori Tiefenthaler on May 19, 2024, 6:57 pmMR Credit: Reduce Embodied Carbon Comment 1: LEEDv5 could publish and require regional benchmarks for concrete. Concrete is a regional material that relies on regional material availability. One source of regional benchmarks are published by the Carbon Leadership Forum in 2023 Carbon Leadership Forum, North American Material Baselines v2, August 2023. Comment 2: We would encourage LEEDv5 to consider the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) Zero Carbon Building Standard (ZCB) to help drive carbon removals with major product insets (or high within the construction materials value chain... |

Planning Zero Waste OperationsLEED v5 BD+C/ID+C: Materials and Resources Public Commentsposted by Chantal Carius on May 18, 2024, 7:07 amIt seems that maybe an education scope in this prerequisite is needed to achive the Zero Waste and threshold also seems to be needed as the prerequisite only speaks of "attempting" zero waste management, so is not mandatory to achieve the goal. ... |

Construction and Demolition Waste ReductionLEED v5 BD+C/ID+C: Materials and Resources Public Commentsposted by Chantal Carius on May 18, 2024, 7:14 amThis credit should be attempting zero waste management in construction.
